3 Shows LA / SD w/ Los Crudos 2/8 & 2/9/2014

3 shows in two days (5 for Crudos in just over 24 hours) Pretty solid lineup at the Echo Sat night. Entire early set played with clean guitar(?!?!) at the che, and then a pretty sick show sunday evening. Sucks the capacity of the Che just got lowered because it feels empty in there for sold out shows.

Show was decent, sound was pretty good, but there was no energy in the room when Infest played. If you don't know the lyrics maybe you shouldn't just scream into the mic, eh? Whats up with the dude just screaming stage left (with white plugs) the whole set, then trying to scream into a mic thats turned off at the end? You alright bro?

This show was pretty bogus. 15 band shows with no in's and out sucks. Some decent sets, some interesting cover songs, overall this was too long. Sound was pretty so so. Was half the PA off for most of the weekend?!?!?

MDF 2013

Had a blast this weekend. Ass kicking sets from Sacred Reich, Midnight, Venom, Iron Lung, Vitamin X, Sleep, Macgrudergrind, Carcass and others. Infest set suffered a bit from the big room loud clicky kick drum sound but overall this was a great set. People going off, good mix of tunes... First show the days turn black 7" was available at.

The wait is over. The leftovers of the leftovers have finally surfaced. 4 unreleased songs that sat for 18 years on the original nms tapes have now been released. A short 1 sided 7" with 3 originals (1 very short instrumental) and the long rumored Negative Approach cover that was supposed to be on the reproach comp ugly pop records put out. The first press was available at MDF & Chaos in Tejas.  If this blog has shown you anything there will be variations.

The oakland show was packed. Over 1000 people turned out on a warm Nor Cal Saturday evening. The band busted out nazi killer for the first time at this show and had special nazi killer shirts. Check some photos by Patrick Liston

Speculated on elsewhere in the blog, there will be a limited one sided 4 song 7" available at MDF and Tejas. It will feature the "leftovers of the leftovers" from the NMS sessions (2 short songs, 1 even shorter instrumental, and the long rumored Negative Approach cover) Drawblank CEO says it will be limited to somewhere around 1000 copies and available only at these 2 shows. So you better get your ass to TEJAS and start waiting on the merch line now. Or you could always just buy the normal press when it comes out on deepsix sometime this summer.

The weather and boners doing pullups on the rafters put a little damper on the show but it was still a good time. I was expecting the same set for all these reunion shows, but it was a nice surprise to have it completely changed up. Pretty cool pic from Evan Burke

So how was Infest?

Better than you could ever have dreamed they would be. Unless you are a moron you better get a ticket to Tejas or Miami. Every other show is sold out (200 tickets will be available day of show at the metro in Oakland) The LA show was beyond packed and they had to turn hundreds of people away. There are talks of a few other shows but nothing is definite and the band is saying this wont happen forever. Don't wait for them to come to your town because that probably ain't gonna happen.

I'm sure everyone already knows, but single day tickets for MDF went on sale today(now sold out). Infest have also been added to the Chaos in Tejas party weekend. There is talk of a show happening in Miami sometime this winter. I'm sure there will be some other shows announced soon so keep your ear to the internet.
